The red carpet is rolled out at Palace Soestdijk and photographers wait at the gate for the arrival of Prime Minister V.G.M. Marijnen. A while later Marijnenn arrives to hand in the resignation of his cabinet as a result of the disagreement on broadcasting policy. The House of Representatives gathers two days later after a request made by Anne Vondeling, where he declares he doesn't understand the reason for the fall of the government and therefore doesn't want to act as advisor for the queen. Then Marijnen attends the discussion in the House of Representatives. Vondeling asks for an explanation, but this motion is rejected after which the meeting is adjourned. Then the party leaders Norbert Schmelzer of the KVP, Vondeling of the PvdA and Molly Geertsema of the VVD arrive at Palace Huis ten Bosch for a consultation with Juliana.
